Georgia Pipers Announcements
The GPD had its six month birthday April 1, 2001. We have listed every band in Georgia except one. We have listed approximately 200 pipers, and thank all who took the time to register with the directory. We have also gotten word that GPD has been instrumental in connecting teachers and beginning pipers, thus fulfilling a key purpose of the project. Thank you all for your support, and let us know how we can improve the directory for everyone.
As of November 15, 2000, the GPD listed over 120 pipers and 14 bands in and around the State of Georgia. Many of the individual listings and a couple of the band listings lacked complete information. We update the directory weekly, so our listings reflect data as we receive it. We look forward to completing a comprehensive listing of regional pipers and bands by the end of 2001. Thank you for your continued support.
The Georgia Pipers Directory will officially open October 1, 2000. It consists of five sections - an index page, an individual pipers listing, a band listing, an announcements page, and a registration form. The directory intends to facilitate contact among pipers and bands, and between pipers, bands, and the general public. It will do so by providing comprehensive contact information, including home page URLs, email addresses, telephone numbers, and mailing addresses. It will also provide a limited forum for announcements, advertisements, and general news. Although, this is a non-commercial site, it will connect the public to performers, teachers, and bands, and thereby advance the art of piping.
